Ex-Air Force PR Director Heads Centre For Crisis Communication

lic Relations and Information, Nigerian Air Force, Retired Air Commodore Yusuf Anas, has been appointed as the Executive Secretary, Centre for Crisis Communication (CCC).
This is contained in a statement issued in Abuja on Wednesday, by  the Secretary of Forum of Spokespersons of Security and Response Agencies (FOSSRA) Mr Emma Okeh.
The Centre, which is a brain child of (FOSSRA), will serve as a think-tank and clearing house for crisis communication in the country.
“Among other mandates, the centre which is non-governmental and independent will be actively involved in research works and publications.
“It will also collect, process, harmonise and provide information on crisis management in the country.
“This is with a view to providing credible and professional crisis communication to the stakeholders and the general public.
“ It will also provide capacity building and advocacy programmes for the stakeholders.
The statement said Anas holds a Bachelors Degree in Political Science and a Masters Degree in International Relations and Strategic Studies.
”He was a member of 27 Regular Course of Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA),” it said.
The statement said Anas also holds Diploma in Journalism from both Nigerian Institute of Journalism (NIJ) and the International Public Relations Business School, London.
It added that Anas was commissioned Pilot Officer on July 4, 1982 and served as director of Public Relations and Information of the Nigerian Air Force and attended several civil courses at home and abroad.
Among his professional associations are: International Public Relations Association (IPRA) and Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM).
Others include; African Public Relations Association (APRA), Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) and Nigerian Institute of Journalism (NIJ).
“Anas is coming to head the new centre with a bag-full of experience in information management and crisis communication,” the statement said.
It said members of FOSSRA include; the spokespersons of the Defence Headquarters, Army , Navy , Air Force, Police and the Department of State Service (DSS).
Other members include; the spokespersons of Nigerian Intelligence Agency (NIA), Customs and Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA).
The rest are; spokespersons of Nigeria Immigration Service, Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Nigerian Prison Service, EFCC, FRSC, Federal Fire Service, and NEMA.
