Emordi Escapes Mob Attack

Coach Okey Emordi had
to be spirited away to safety to escape angry fans after Kano Pillars crashed out of this year’s Federation Cup in Kaduna on Wednesday.
Lower league side Plateau United edged past league champions Pillars on penalties after this round of 32 match finished 1-1.
The fans chanted ‘Emordi must go!’ as the experienced coach was taken away by his assistants before he was attacked.
Both players and fans have demanded for the dismissal of Emordi as Pillars look set to surrender the league championship they have held for the past three straight seasons.
Plateau United were the better team on Wednesday, but for poor finishing and some brilliant goalkeeping by Theophilus Afelokhai they ought to have won this game at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium in Kaduna within regulation time.
“We are seriously down, we just have to go and look at the situation,” admitted dejected Pillars spokesman Idris Malikawa.
