Congo Adds Six Pros To Face Nigeria
Congo will now have six foreign-based professionals who were previously not released by their clubs for Sunday’s crunch CAF U-23 Championship qualifier against Nigeria in Pointe Noire.
Congo lost the first leg in Port Harcourt 2-1 two weeks ago without these players, but they will now be available for the return leg, which they only need to win 1-0 to advance to the tournament proper, which will serve as qualifier for the 2016 Rio Olympics.
They are midfielders Philzgérarld Mbaka, Hardy Binguila, Charlevy Mabiala, Yohan Andzouana and Julsy Boukama Kaya and striker Syvère Ganvoula Mboussy.
Attacking midfielder from French club AJ Auxerre, Binguila is already an established full international for his country.
Congo moved into a training camp in Pointe Noire on Monday.
The game is scheduled for Pointe Noire at 16h30 CAT on Sunday.
