Coach Hails Rivers Angels’ Performance
Assistant Coach of Riv
ers Angels Football club of Port Harcourt, Whyte Ogbondah, has commended the efforts of his team so far, since the commencement of the 2015 league season.
Ogbonda in a telephone interview lauded the players performance in the season, having been undefeated in the league and Federation Cup matches, so far.
According to him, the players have been doing their best game by game, especially during the week four match played against Taraba Oueens recently. He noted that despite the heavy down pour that made the pitch flood, which did not allow for good flow of the ball, both sides were able to play good football.
“Both teams gave good account of the themselves but at the end, were able to play better and carry the day,” Whyte said.
He also said that, his team played well, because, the game was played in the opponent’s half all through the 90 minuties duration.
Earlier, Technical Adviser of Taraba Queens, Adewale Olatunji, admitted that the game was a good one but said he had a great task ahead of him.
“It was a very good game, both teams played, but you know when you play inside the rain you can expect anything, yes, they got the goal disadvantage of me and there is nothing you can do, we tried to fight back and pick the ball to launch some attack but, there is nothing we can do about it”, he said.
Olatunji, maintained that he has a big challenge ahead of him, preparing for his next games.
“This one is a big challenge in front of us now and we have to go back to the drawing board and you know we are travelling to Akure and we want to see if we can pick something out of it and come back home”, he said.
He said that the team will await C.O.D Ladies before moving to Abuja, they will try as much as possible to gather six or seven points so that they can consolidate their stand on the league table.
