CJN Extends Tenure Of Justice Okocha

The Chief Justice of Nigeria and Chairman, National Judicial Council, Hon. Justice Mahmud Mohammed, GCON, has recommended the renewal of the appointment of Hon. Justice Daisy Okocha as Acting Chief Judge of Rivers State.
This was contained in a statement in Port Harcourt yesterday which was signed by the Special Adviser to the Rivers State Governor on Media and Publicity, Sir. Opunabo Inko-Tariah.
The statement said the recommendation was conveyed to the Rivers State, Governor, Chief Nyesom Ezenwo Wike via a letter dated July 13, 2015 with Ref. No. NJC/S.1/XXV11.979.
It said that Governor Wike expressed gratitude and thanked the CJN for the speedy approval.
It would be recalled that the Governor had in a letter titled: Request for Renewal of the Appointment of Hon. Justice Daisy Okocha as Acting Chief Judge of the State” dated July 10, 2015 and addressed to the CJN, requested for the renewal of the appointment of Hon. Justice Okocha as Acting Chief Judge.
