Anti-Corruption: PDP Wants Buhari To Extend Drive To APC Members

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has commended President Muhammadu Buhari’s recent proposed move to extend his anti-corruption drive to public office holders and other political parties, including his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The State Chairman of the PDP in Rivers State, Brother Felix Obuah who stated this noted that the move by the presidency to carry out his anti-corruption activities on everybody regardless of party affiliations was a welcome mission, if only the Federal Government would be sincere to Nigerians.
Obuah who spoke through his Media Assistant, Mr. Jerry Needem called on the APC government to also extend its anti-corruption drive to the former governor of Rivers State, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Amaechi, whom he accused of siphoning the state fund.
According to him, “The former Governor has been accused of looting of public facilities, siphoning of the state treasury and illegal sales of state-owned establishments.
Obuah called on President Buhari to display his transparency and change slogan’s by showing example from his party, “APC” for Nigerians to believe that his anti-corruption activities is not selective.
Meanwhile, the Publicity Secretary of All Progressives Congress (APC) Chris Finebone has describe the call by the PDP for the probe of former governor of Rivers State, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi as a calculated tactics to rift the close relationship between President Buhari and the immediate past governor of the state.
According to him, Rt. Hon. Amaechi was before now known to President Buhari as a transparent and sincere person, whose fight for transparency and anti-corruption advocacy rifted him and the past immediate President of Nigeria, Mr. Goodluck Jonathan.
He said Amaechi’s disagreement with former President Jonathan was over illegal theft of Rivers oil fund to Bayelsa, and other neighbouring states, including the former President refusal to tackle corrupted members of his cabinet was the major causes for Rt. Hon. Amaechi to decamp to APC, as a party for change.
He called on Governor Wike to focus on how to deliver the state from the current security’s challenges.
