Alleged Threat: Police Arraign Woman, 39

The Police, on Thurs
day in Ibadan, arraigned a 39-year-old woman, Sikirat Abdul-Malik for allegedly threatening to terminate the life of her creditor.
Abdul-Malik, who was charged with threat to life before an Iyaganku Chief Magistrate’s Court in Ibadan, pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Sgt. Sunday Ojeleye, said that the accused committed the offence on May 12, at 2:00p.m., when she threatened one Mr Ajayi Mathew’s life.
According to him, Matthew received the threat after he demanded for the payment of the sum of N2.5 million the accused borrowed from him.
Ojeleye said that the accused person also conducted herself in a manner likely to cause a breach of peace.
He said that the accused acted contrary to Section 249 (D) of the Criminal Code Cap 38 Vol. II Laws of Oyo State of Nigeria.
Magistrate A. A. Adebisi granted the accused bail in the sum of N50, 000.00 and adjourned the matter till August 31 for mention.
