AAG: Asian Open To Tune Up Para-Powerlifters -Coach

geria Para-Powerlifting Are Feyisetan, Federation (NPF) has said that the Asian Open Championships will serve as build up for the 11th All Africa Games (AAG).
Feyisetan told newsmen in Lagos that the lifters were part of championships in Kazakhstan, which held from July 23 to yesterday.
He said that the lifters had gone into closed camping since July 4, at the Liberty Stadium, Ibadan, in preparation for the championships, which would also serve as Olympic Qualifier.
“This championships are coming at a good time because it is close to the AAG, so that the preparations we are having now in camp, will help the lifters at the Games.
“We are working seriously ahead to ensure that our lifters are in top form so that they can successfully qualify for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
“The camping resumed last week, after the trials where the lifters were invited and they are presently going through training,‘’ he said.
The coach said that the championships would go a long way in improving the lifters’ chances of acquiring more points to boost their bid for slots at the Games.
He, however, applauded the National Sports Commission (NSC) for positive response to their request to be in camp at the appropriate time ahead of the championships.
According to him, the lifters are doing well, their medical team are on ground and they are now more committed.
