2015 Polls: We’ll Retain States We Won
The Peoples Democratic party (PDP) says there is no amount of intimidation by the All Progressives Congress (APC) that will make it lose any state it won during the last elections.
The national Vice Chairman, South-South of the Peoples Democratic Party, Dr. Cairo Ojiegbu, who said this on Monday in a press briefing in Port Harcourt, maintained that the party would resist any move to remove any elected member at all levels.
‘We will retain all the states and positions we have non, and we are mindful of the courts, so we will respect the rule of law”, he said.
According to the PDP, South-South Vice Chairman, the party is positioning its members for leadership positions in the National Assembly and the House of Representatives, pointing out that the party is on ground.
He said that the APC’s struggle to grab power by all means has turned to a disappointment to the country, saying that a time will come when Nigerians would beg former President Goodluck Jonathan to come back.
The party insisted that the appointment of Amina Zakari as the acting Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) was unacceptable to it as President Muhammadu Buhari’s appointments were one-sided.
Ojiegbu stressed the need for President Buhari to spread his appointments to include other people from other geo-political zones, noting that former President Jonathan maintained the principle of Federal Character in the appointment of persons into positions.
On the political crisis in Bayelsa State, the PDP said there were moves to resolve it, pointing out that Governor Seriake Dickson was a worthy governor who has executed and completed many projects in the state.
The party held a 2-day meeting in Port Harcourt to restrategise for 2019 elections.
