The prosecutor, Insp. Emmanuel Adoku, told the court that the accused, who resides at OAU Quarters, Maitama, Abuja, is facing charges of criminal conspiracy, criminal breach of trust and cheating.
Adoke said that the complainant, Felicia Udogwu of PHCN, Maitama, in August 2010, bought a Toyota Rav 4 from the accused for the sum of Nl million.
He said that when Udogwu discovered that the vehicle had engine and electrical problems, he reported to the accused.

He told the court that Garba in the company of the accused collected the said Toyota, and an additional N300,000 from the complainant, with a promise to exchange the car with a Toyota Corolla 2009 model.
Adoke said the complainant in April, reported the case at the Maitama Police Station, after the accused failed to fufill her part of the contractual agreement.
The prosecutor said the offences contravened the provisions of Sections 97, 312 and 322 of the Penal Code law.
But the accused denied the allegations and pleaded not guilty.

She ordered the accused to be remanded in police custody and adjourned the matter till June 24 for hearing.
