RSG Dissolves Tertiary Institutions’ Governing Councils

The Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has ordered the immediate dissolution of the governing councils and boards of some tertiary institutions in the state.
In a statement signed by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Publicity, Opunabo Inko-Tariah, the government listed the affected institutions to include the School of Nursing, School of Health Technology, and Rivers State University of Science and Technology.
Others are the Ignatius Ajuru University of Education, Rivers State Polytechnic, Bori, and the Rivers State College of Arts and Science.
The statement warned that anyone found flouting the dissolution order, would be severely dealt with, just as it directed all affected officials to hand over all government properties, including documents in their possession to appropriate officers of the respective institutions to avoid arrest and prosecution.
