Rivers Judiciary Loses 10 Staff –CR
The Chief Registrar of
the Rivers State Judiciary, Mr Leonard K. Adoki, has said the judiciary lost ten staff during the over one year crisis that rocked the judiciary in the state.
The Rivers State judiciary was engulfed with leadership crisis following the appointment of Justice Peter Agumagu by the past administration as the substantive Chief Judge of the state as well as the appointment of Justice Daisy .W. Okocha as then administrator of the state judiciary.
This development, the leadership of the judiciary workers find difficult on whom their allegiance was to be as well as insecurity and safety of courts in the state.
The leadership of the Jusun in the state last year ordered their members to embark on an indefinite strike and sit at home until the crisis rocking the judiciary were restored.
Speaking at the special court valedictory session held at the judiciary complex, Monday, the state Chief Registrar, Leonard Adoki informed the gathering that ten staff of the judiciary lost their lives during the crisis.
Mr Adoki, who did not explain further on the causes of the death of the staff, however, urged the gathering to pray for the bereaved families who lost their loved ones during the period.
The occasion was organised to pray to God for transformation and guidance and protection of the new administration of judiciary in the state.
