Organisers Happy With PH Cricket League Season
One of the organizers
of the just-concluded 2014/2015 Port Harcourt cricket league held at the University of Port Harcourt Choba Cricket pitch, has expressed satisfaction over the successful conclusion of the league season.
Timinadi, who made this known in an interview with Tidesports in Port Harcourt on Monday stated that he was impressed with the level of discipline exhibited by players during the competition and the success of the league.
According to him, the season was one of the best so far since the inception of the competition, saying that the championship was remarkable.
He however decried the absence of sponsors, during the competition, he said that the league needs good sponsors to take it to the desired level.
“We are pleading with Corporate bodies and well-meaning individuals to come up and sponsor the league in order to move the sport to an enviable height within and outside the state”, he said.
Meanwhile, Benvic Cricket Club emerged champions of the league followed by Whales Cricket Club which placed second.
Other participants were defending champions of the previous edition of the competition, Pathers Cricket Club which claimed third position in the league.
It would be recalled that four clubs participated in the competition Benvic C.C., Whales C.C. Panthers C.C. and K-11 CC.
