The Paramount Ruler of

Eze Odum, who made the call during a familiarisation visit by the State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Dan Bature to Oginigba community recently said there was the need for more patrol vans to be provided to the police outfits in the area for effective policing of the community.
The community’s police outpost in particular, he noted, was in dire need of patrol vans to enhance its operations.
While commending the Commissioner of Police for the visit, the traditional ruler said it had gone a long way to boost the morale of policemen and women in the area and also provided an ample opportunity for the state police boss to be acquainted with the challenges facing the police in the area.
Eze Odum, however, stressed the need for the Trans Amadi Police Station to be renamed Oginigba Police Station to reflect the place where it is located, saying, there is no community in the state that bears Trans Amadi.
He enjoined policemen and women operating in the area to cooperate and work together for effective policing of the community, particularly the waterways.
Commenting on the visit of the Commissioner of Police to the area in an interview, a stakeholder and Executive of the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), Chief Iheanyichukwu Agu said the visit was a welcome development, as it was long overdue.
He, however, appealed to the Police Commissioner to make the visit a memorable one by helping the community to achieve its programme of peace, having been presented with all that the community needed to promote peace and security in the area.
Chief Agu also called for the establishment of a vigilante outfit to patrol the community, particularly at night, stressing that Oginigba community had remained one of the most peaceful communities in the state, despite minor skirmishes involving the youths.
He commended the Paramount Ruler of the community, Eze G.B. Odum for his peaceful, generous and hospitable disposition, and called on the people of the area to always support the King and also be loyal to him for the overall development and progress of the community.
