NYCN Tasks Youth On Peace Dev

The Chairman, National
Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Etche Local Government Area of Rivers State chapter, Comrade Precious Dike, has tasked  the youths to be agents of peace development in the area.
Comrade Dike made this assertion on Monday, while addressing newsmen in Port Harcourt, shortly after under- taking on the spot assessment on the performance of security operatives in the area.
He stated that the call become imperative considering the negative impact cult activities had on the area noting that the economic fortune of the area has been affected.
According to him, the upsurge of the cult-related attacks in the area  has adversely affected the living of everybody “both the rich and poor”, noting that all hands must be on deck to curb the menaces of the cultism in  area.
He commended the security operatives for their gallant jobs they have been doing to ensure that absolute peace and security were returned in most communities ravaged by cult attacks.
“I came here with my team to independently access the level of devastation occasioned by the cult attacks in these communities- Okehi Obibi and Igbodo, Akwa.
“We have also seen the level of security surveillance put in place  in these areas, we think that their efforts are commendable and should be appreciated”, he said.
The Etche NYCN boss thanked the chairman of the local government council, Barr Reginald Ukwuoma for the support to the security operatives in the area as well as his various initiatives put in place to ensure that absolute peace and restoration of law and order in the area.
Comrade Dike urged the people of the area to cooperate with the new administration in the area in their efforts to ensure that peaceful environment was enshrined.
He averred that everybody must join hands with the government in this direction noting that security and peace were too vital in society development to be left for government alone.
The youth lender appealed to all youths in the area to be a vanguard of peace, love and contribute their own quota to the development even as he advised them to shun all forms of anti- social activities that would destroy the unity and scarcity of the people.
