Another Niger Delta
group, the Aggrieved Voice of Niger Delta Youth, has added its voice to the call for probe of the present leadership of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).
President of the group, Comrade Amatari Bipeledi made the call at the Annual General Meeting (AGM)of the body held in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital last Saturday.
The group accused the Dan Abia-led board  of squandering money  meant for the award of water-hycinth contract to Niger Delta communities especially communities where sources of drinking water have been affected by oil pollution.
Bipeledi stated that the only way the Niger Delta youth could support the President Muhammadu Buhari-led government is to expose anything capable of jeopardizing his administration.
Youth of the region, according to the group’s President are ready and willing to partner with President Buhari’s government in its desire to improve  the lot of the Niger Delta.
“We are calling on President Buhari to immediately set up a panel to probe the present NDDC board”, he maintained, adding that the commission is supposed to protect the lives of those suffering in riverine communities but had failed to do so.
It would be recalled that  many groups particularly from the oil-rich Niger Delta have  called on Buhari’s administration to probe the present board for allegedly  squandering the resources  of the  commission.
Niger Delta Youth coalition (NDDC) and Voice of Isoko  Youth for Change VIYC are amongst the  groups  clamouring for the probe.
NDYC National coordinator, Prince Emmanuel Ogba said NDDC has failed in its roles as an interventionist agency and should be re-organised.
