Leroy Accuses Ghana Of Cheating

Claude Leroy is crying foul over their recent 1-0 loss to Ghana U-23 in Accra  in the first leg of their 2015 CAF U-23 Championship qualifier.
The ‘Black Meteors’ secured a narrow victory against the Congolese at the Accra Sports Stadium, thanks to a goal from Enoch Ebo Andoh just before the break.
However, Leroy questioned the true ages of the Ghanaians, who are supposed to be born after 1 January 1993 according to the rules of the competition.
“It is not fair. Congo are applying the rules, but Ghana are not,” the French veteran said.
“I have coached some of the Ghanaians seven years ago, in the African Nations Championship’s qualifiers against Niger. They are not below 23 years of age,” added Leroy, who managed the Black Stars from 2006 to 2008.
Congo hosted the ‘Black Meteors’ in Pointe-Noire for the return leg yesterday.
