INTELS Constructs Trailer Parks On Onne Road
In a bid to allow free flow
of traffic within the Onne Port complex and its environs, the management of Intels Nig Ltd has embarked on the construction of trailer parks in the area.
This was disclosed by the General Manager Government and Corporate Affaies of the company, Chief David Allagoa, during a media parley at the headquarters of the company at Onne, in Eleme local government area of Rivers ,recently.
Alagoa said construction of the new trailer park was part of the company’s expansion programme to further ensure that no trailer from the port is parked on the road.
He hinted that the new trailer parks which are in phases would also help create less congestions on the roads in the area, and that the project is at various stages of completion at the Federal Ocean Terminal of the port.
According to him, apart from the trailer parks, the company is also embarking on internal roads and drainages at its industrial area at the Federal Lighter Terminal (FLT), Onne.
Alagoa further stated that the phase one of the trailer park is capable of accommodating 400 trailers, with space for 200 trailers while that of phase three is to have 120 trailers parked conveniently with further extension.
The image marker also noted that their drivers were trained and retrained to international level in the oil and gas while they also underwent random alcohol test, to further ensure that their service delivery, efficiency and safety standards are not compromised, since they have vowed to give their clients the best in oil and gas business sector in Nigeria and beyond.
It would be recalled that as part of their corporate social responsibilities, the company had embarked on some road constructions in their host communities in Rivers and Akwa-Ibom states.
They include 10 km Mount Zion Road project at Onne, Internal Interlock road network at Ogu in Ogu/Bolo local government area, and an internal roads network at Ogbunabali in Port City Local government area, among others.
