Ikuru Urges Banigo To Rely On God
Outgoing Rivers State Deputy Governor, Engr. Tele Ikuru, has formally handed over to the new Deputy Governor, Dr Ipalibo Harry-Banigo, urging her to make God’s word her cornerstone in office.
Speaking after conducting her round the offices and handing over the sum of N2.3 million left in the office coffers in Government House, Port Harcourt, Ikuru said he was a fulfilled man.
He expressed gratitude to God, saying the challenges of the office was enormous in the past eight years but he was able to surmount them.
While congratulating the deputy governor, Ikuru enjoined her to utilize her office to serve the people and God, stressing that her success will depend on her relationship with God and man.
Ikuru used the opportunity to commend the staffers who worked with him while urging them to extend the same cordiality to the new deputy governor.
On her part, Harry-Banigo described the outgoing deputy governor as a man of courage, and commended him for his legacies and promised to build on his efforts.
She noted that her election as deputy governor was divine mandate which will not be misplaced, as she thanked incoming governor, Barrister Nyesom Wike for finding her worthy to serve along with him.
Harry-Banigo described Wike as a man of great strength, expressing hope that he will bring his zeal to bear in transforming the state.
