IGSDA Congratulates Wike, Tasks RSG On Sports Dev.

The President of
Independent Grassroots Sports Development Assocation, IGSDA, Prince Miebi Ogunu has congratulated Rivers State Governor Chief Nyesom Wike on his recent victory at the polls and successful searing as the chief Executive of the state.
Speaking during the association’s coaches conference at the liberation Stadium last week, Prince Ogunu described the coming of Governor Wike as a plus for Sports development in the state.
He called on the governor to give priority grassroots level, which would lay effective foundation for sustainable success.
Prince Ogunu expressed the hope that the government would partner the association in its quest for collaborative efforts in grassroots sports development through the establishment of grassroots sports development department in the Ministry of Sports.
He also hoped that the in-coming Commissioner for Sports in the state would take advantage of the grassroots initiative of the association to angered profitable sports development in the state. He stated the association’s readiness to work with the present administration for the improvement of grassroots sports on the state.
The Coaches conference which dwelt on the way forward for grassroots sports and policies had in attendance coaches of various sports from the 23 local government areas of the State.
Also in attendance were coaches of Sharks and Dolphins FCs, Ere Dokubo and Stanley Eguma, Nigeria Football Federation Board member, Christopher Green, Hon. Uroh Kiani, Senatorial Co-ordinators of the association and other dignitaries.
