Senior Pastor of the Salvation Ministries, David Ibiyeomie, says love for one’s nation and state remains sure path to prosperity.
Ibiyeomie made the remarks while speaking at a Special Thanksgiving Service by Governor Nyesom Wike yesterday at Salvation Ministries in Port Harcourt.
In his words: “If we desire to see change, then we must correspond responsibility to change. A greater Rivers State will be made by collective responsibility. We must love Rivers State and Nigeria”.
Ibiyeomie emphasized that without love for one’s nation, prosperity and development would be a pipe dream, saying that a successful government is the responsibility of the citizenry.
Reminding the citizenry of the need to make God their pillar at all times, the man of God stated that thanksgiving and appreciation of God’s mercy is also an essential ingredient for a state’s greatness.
“If we give thanks, we shall become sweatless mountain movers,” he said while recalling that what made America great was their leaders’ dedication to God.
He urged followers to stop putting pressure on their leaders in order to get something from the system, arguing that such attitude breeds corruption.
For youth, Ibiyeomie charged them to be purpose-driven, reminding them of the need to utilize their youthfulness for the transformation of the nation.
The founder of the Salvation Ministries stated that time has come to build a new Rivers State, and therefore, urged the people to challenge their leaders to work harder.
He also counseled Governor Wike to be humble and not allow his office to overwhelm him, while calling on him to shun political patronage and select only those who would help him succeed.
