The Management of
Delta Oil International Development Company Limited has promise to deploy the latest technology in the management and operation of the Etche Economic Processing Complex (EEPC), Okomoko.
The President/Managing Director of the company, Mr Kenneth Otamiri who disclosed this in an interview with newsmen in Port Harcourt said that, the company is focused on the processing of the local raw materials, oil and gas in Etche Local Government Area to bring about sustainable development and in the process create wealth and employment.
“The underlying principle of the EEPC is the concept of bringing technology and expertise to exploit the raw materials at locations where they are found instead of extracting and shipping them out to overseas, which does not bring about development on ground and no direct benefits to the mineral producing communities.
Mr Otamiri described Nigeria’s natural gas as rich in LPG and Naphthal condensate or Natural Gas Liquids (NGLs) but regretted that the existing practice has been to inject these products into the  crude oil streams which are exported overseas.
According to him, the core of EEPC design concept is the development of the LPG for domestic and commercial use for cooking and heating, NGLs for integration with crude oil to boost the production of light end products in refining processes, while the lean gas is to generate power.
“This is the reason why we are presenting the project as Etche Economic Processing Complex (EEPC) locating all the resources and plants in Etche Local Government Area.
“This is Delta Oil International Company initiative in sustainable economic development and helping in resolving the economic challenges we face today in Nigeria, like unemployment especially among young”, he said.
He also promised that the company will give the community stakes in the project to create employment, wealth and sustain the security of the project.
