Enthusiasts Applaud Eagles’ Victory Over Chad

An action recorded during the Nigeria versus Chad 2017 AFCON Qualifier in Kaduna on Saturday.

Football enthusiasts at the
Weekend commended the Super Eagles for securing the three points at stake in their 2-0 victory over Chad ahead of the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying match held at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna.
The enthusiasts, who spoke  in separate interviews, commended the team for living up to expectation.
An ex-international, Felix Owolabi said that securing the three points at stake was a good start to the campaign for the AFCON ticket.
Owolabi urged Nigerians to be patient with the team, stressing that they would improve with time.“Securing the three points is important; we should not expect fantastic results from them; what is important is good result” .
Head of Football Department, National Institute for Sports (NISports), Lawrence Ndaks said the three points from the qualifier, was crucial to the country’s chances of qualifying for the 2017 AFCON.
Ndaks urged the technical crew to be proactive in blending the players in order to have a more formidable team ahead of other qualifying matches.
“They have delivered the three points needed in this match and I hope their performance will improve from now onwards,” he said.
A grassroots football coach in the Rumuokwuta axis of Port Harcourt, Tony Emoka urged the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to provide the team with the needed support to qualify for the competition.
“This is a good start for us and the NFF should do everything within their powers to ensure that the country qualified for  the AFCON,” he said.
