NWFL Mgt Shifts Week Two Match
The management of the
Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) on Wednesday in Abuja shifted all the season 2015 NWFL Week 2 matches slated for May 9 to May 10.
The League’s Secretary, Isaac Ajisafe, in a statement said this was to enable the clubs support the senior national women team, the Super Falcons, in their match on Saturday.
The Falcons will host their 1016 Olympic qualifying match against Mali at the Abuja National Stadium tomorrow.
The match is the opening fixture in the African qualifying competition for the Women’s Football Tournament of the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.
Ajisafe also said the NWLF had received the approval of the National Football Association (NFA) board to include two more clubs in the Premier League to make it even number.
“The NFA has approved the inclusion of two league clubs, COD United Ladies FC of Lagos and Capital City Doves of Abuja, in the Women Premier League.
“This is to make the league have an even number of 16 clubs for the 2015 League season, which will now have two groups of eight clubs,” he said.
