NSC New Co-ordinator Assumes Office

A new zonal co-orinator
for the Nigeria Shippers’ Council (NSC), South-South Zone has been appointed.
He is a Deputy Director with the Council, Mr Phillip Eduwa, who took over from Mr Maurice Effanga, who had since been redeployed to the Lagos office.
Until his redeployment, Eduwa was in charge of the Warri Port of the Nigeria Shippers’ Council.
A source said that the new zonal co-ordinator of NSC  had also worked in several departments of the council, including the Cargo Defence Fund and Commercial Shipping Department.
The source further said that the appointment was part of the council’s strategies to strengthen the operations of the council in the zone, and re-strategise its new role as the ports economic operators in the country.
Eduwa had since assumed duty in his new office as the Zonal Co-ordinator, South-South of the Council which has members from Rivers and Bayelsa States.
Meanwhile, the immediate past co-ordinator of the council in the South-South, Mr Effanga has been commended for his efforts in repositioning the outfit to face the changes in the area.
Some members of the council in the zone who spoke to our correspondent said he was a technocrat who used his wealth of experience to bear in moving the council forward, and also pledged their unalloyed support.
