Iheanacho Ready For WYC
Nigeria starlet Kelechi Iheanacho has again proved he is ready for this month’s FIFA U20 World Cup after he won the inaugural International Premier League Cup for Manchester City U21s.
Iheanacho scored the only goal as City beat FC Porto 1-0 in the final.
Benfica, Schalke, Celtic and Leicester City were the other teams involved in the competition.
Iheanacho, who is expected to be part of Nigeria’s Flying Eagles at their training camp in Nurnberg, Germany, and the World Championship In New Zealand put the hosts ahead inside five minutes.
He lasted for 62 minutes before he was replaced.
This performance has further cleared doubts about his fitness ahead of the U20 World Cup in New Zealand.
He was first injured in November and then he received another injury in early March.
But he has since fully recovered to feature for both Manchester City U19s and U21s.
