Enyimba’s Early Goals Broke My Team -Dolphins Coach
Following another home loss, to Enyimba International FC of Aba on Sunday in a week nine GLO Premier League game, Dolphins of Port Harcourt Manager, Stanley Eguma, has said that early goals conceded by his team caused them the match.
Dolphins lost 1-2 to Enyimba in their weekend home match played at the Liberation Stadium Port Harcourt.
Eguma told newsmen that the early goals scored by their opponents destabilized his side as they could not return fully into the game.
‘’ This is football and anything can happen.
‘’ The two early goals broke my side and it was a psychological blow to us. We will pick up and see what we can do in the remaining matches,’’ he said.
Dolphins Festus Austin scored an own goal in the 6th minute while Markson Ojobo scored Enyimba’s second goal in the 7th minute.
Omo Johnson scored Dolphins only goal in the 36th minute.
Enyimba’s coach, Kadiri Ikhana, said his team did not underestimate Dolphins.
‘’ We did not underestimate Dolphins and that is why we came prepared for them and won.
‘’ We know that Dolphins will be a worthy opposition and we had to give them our best.
‘’ Enyimba is a quality side and all the matches we lost so far is not because we are not good,’’ he said.
Dolphins had earlier this season lost another home match by the same margin to Sunshine Stars of Akure at the same venue.
