Agency Hails Public Adherence To Fire Safety Code

Officer(PRO), Federal Fire Service (FFS), Mr Collins Elechi, says adherence to the National Fire Safety Code(NFSC) in the country is impressive in recent times.

According to him, corporate bodies and Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) are keying into the regulations of the code more than ever before.
“ The general public adherence to regulations as contained in the Safety Code has been impressive.
“MDAs and corporate bodies are now keying into the project (NFSC) because their huge investments will always be protected against fire outbreaks.
“Our Enforcement Unit, Policy Regulatory Inspectorate Unit, as well as our Public Relations Unit have been going around to educate people on what to do,” he said.
The PRO said the agency would continue to improve on its efforts to sensitise the public on fire protection and prevention, as well as acquisition of modern gadgets to combat fire outbreaks.
He said the service was committed to ensuring proper safety of lives and property from fire outbreaks or related circumstances in the country.
