The Governor-elect and governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Nyesom Wike has reiterated his commitment to run an all-inclusive government in Rivers State.
Wike, who made the pledge on Monday shortly after being presented with the certificate of return by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) said, there was no loser or winner in the last elections in the state, as he promised to involve all irrespective of party affiliations.
According to him, “nobody has lost and nobody has won, all of us are winners. We have to work together and move the state forward”.
He pledged to carry everybody along so that Rivers State will remain one and a strong state.
He commended the people of the state and the security agencies for their commitment during the elections in the state, and pleaded that those who were not given their certificate of return, will have theirs on a later date.
In her address, the Rivers State Resident Electoral Commissioner, Mrs Gesila Khan warned those presented with the certificate of return that their success should not be seen as a personal victory but a triumph for the democratic process and a call to national service.
According to her, “I pray that God will give you wisdom and courage to take the right decisions that would better the lives of our people, and by extension, our nation, Nigeria”.
She commended those who contributed to the success of the elections in the state for their sacrifices to consolidate the democratic gains.
Meanwhile, the Rivers State Governor- elect, Chief Nyesom Wike and his Deputy, Dr Ipalibo Harry-Banigo,  received their certificates of return from the Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC). Also, 15 winners of the March 28 National Assembly election in the state, including three senators-elect were presented with certificates of return.
The certificate of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) candidate who won the Tai/Eleme/Oyigbo federal constituency seat,Hon Jecon Johnson was not among the ones presented, even as he was asked to go to Abuja to collect same.
The presentation of certificates of return to winners of the state House of Assembly elections was deferred because INEC was not done with the certificate following the conclusion of rerun elections in some local government areas last Saturday.
Most winners of the various Houses of Assembly positions who had come to collect their return certificates were disappointed.
