Re-Run Elections Peaceful In Rivers – Police

Command says the re-run of the State House of Assembly elections in six local government areas of the state was  peaceful and devoid of any violence.
The State Police Public Relations Officer, (PPRO), ASP Ahmmad Mohammad disclosed this over the weekend while speaking to journalists after monitoring the outcome of the elections.
According to him, there was no incident across the six LGAs where any violence or crisis was recorded.
“So far, we have not recorded any incident. Elections have been smooth in the affected local government areas”, he stated.
The police image maker in the state used the opportunity to commend the officers as well as electorates for the orderly manner in which they conducted themselves during the elections.
He assured that those people caught contravening the electoral laws would be punished accordingly while assuring the resident of the state of the police’s continued determination to protect law and order.
