Polls: Abalama Monarch Denies Endorsement Of Candidates

Abalama in Asari-Toru Local Government Area of Rivers State, His Royal Highness Alkinson Big Tom Tom the viii says that he has not endorsed any candidate for the 2015 general elections.
Speaking in an interview with The Tide in his palace, the monarch said contrary to the claims by his detractors in the area, who alleged that he had endorsed a particular candidate in the area, the Amayanabo stated that his position as a Royal Highness only allows him to bless candidate irrespective of their political affiliation.
He noted that he had been giving his royal blessing to all candidates as expected of a royal father, wondering why some members of the community would be instigating violent act in his domain by sponsoring false information about his person.
Big Tom Tom stated that on the 10th of March some members of the Peoples Democratic Party had protested to his palace with various placards threatening to kill him for giving his royal blessing to a particular candidate.
Describing the allegation as baseless, malicious and acrimonious, the monarch said it was capable of inciting violence in the community, and urged the people of the area to remain peaceful during the electioneering period.
He however called on the state government and the security agencies to ensure the security of lives and property in the area.
Big Tom Tom expressed gratitude to Gov Chibuke Amaechi for upgrading the traditional stool of the Abalama people and his developmental strides in the state.
