Nigeria, Japan, Ecuador To Face Off In World Softball
The Nigeria Softball team
has been pitch alongside Ecuador, Great Britain and Japan in Pool A of the forthcoming 11th World Softball Junior Championship.
The championship is scheduled to hold from August 9 to August 15 in Oklahoma, U.S.
A press statement by the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) revealed that the 18 countries participating at the event were grouped into five pools.
According to the statement, the championship would be staged at the newly-renovated ASA Hall of Fame Complex in the Oklahoma state capital. Pool A has: China, Ecuador, Great Britain, Japan and Nigeria in its ranks, while Pool B has: Brazil, Colombia, Italy, Mexico and the U.S. lumped together.
Pool C has: Argentina, Australia, Czech Republic, Puerto Rico, followed by Pool D with: Canada, Chinese Taipei, New Zealand and Venezuela. Nigeria was the only African country that was invited to participate in the championship.
