NASU Assures Workers Of Promotion, Welfare

The members of the
Non-Academic Staff Union of Education and Associated Institutions (NASU), Senior Secondary School’s Board, Rivers State branch have been assured of regular promotion and welfare.
The branch chairman, Comrade Promise Dokubo gave the assurance in his post-election speech at Nkpolu Oroworukwu Town Hall, Diobu, Port Harcourt recently.
Dokubo said his administration would ensure payment of forms for staff on Junior cadre to participate in the establishment promotion interviews as well as give the workers’ welfare priority attention.
According to him, he would run an all-inclusive regime for all members to enjoy the dividends of good leadership and also solicited for their co-operation and unalloyed support to move the union to another level.
He reiterated that his administration would put smiles on the faces of members and further assured that they would live up to the confidence reposed on them and thanked them for giving them the leadership of the union.
Earlier, the out –going branch  chairman of the union, Comrade Nnana Akara, had called on the state government to urgently implement the workers promotion from 2008 to 2012, ensure regular payment of staff salaries and allowances, as well as pay the peculiarity allowances to NASU staff as in other states and employ more non-teaching staff.
Akara thanked the management of the Rivers State Senior Secondary Schools Board for their understanding and co-operation but wished that the union be represented in the board, and enjoined the new Exco to redouble their efforts.
Other members of the Exco include Barine Boru Kpah –Secretary, Ekene Colin Chigbundu-Treasurer, while Onyeche Emmanuel, Onyeanuel Wokoma Ellis, Paul Vincent and Florence Morrison are ex-officio members.
