F’Eagles To Train In Europe For W/Cup
Flying Eagles are likely to
train in Europe prior to featuring at the FIFA U20 World Cup in New Zealand, it has been learnt.
All hands are now on deck for the recently crowned African champions to go all the way and become the first Nigeria team to clinch the FIFA U20 World Cup in New Zealand in June.
“The NFF are working round the clock to ensure adequate preparation for the Flying Eagles to give their best shot at the World Cup,” an official disclosed.
The Flying Eagles will face adverse weather conditions as well as grapple with a huge time difference in New Zealand.
June is first month of winter in New Zealand with the average temperature in North Island between 4-16 C, while in the south is between 1-12C.
New Zealand is also 12 full hours ahead of Nigeria, so when it is 3pm in Nigeria, it will be 3am in New Zealand.
The Flying Eagles trained in France, Germany and Austria to prepare for the 2013 World Cup in Turkey.
The Nigeria U20s are due to resume training camp soon.
They are drawn in a first round group that has Brazil, Hungary and North Korea.
