Enugu Guber Candidate Harps On Agric Revolution
The governorship candi
date of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Enugu State, Mr Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, has promised to pursue agricultural revolution in the state if elected on April 11 election.
Ugwuanyi made the promise at a town hall meeting held at the Enugu Sports Club recently.
According to him, we will pursue a revolution in agriculture that will ensure significant increase in the area of land cultivation, thus creating massive employment and enhancing income of farmers.
He said this would be achieved by encouraging more joint venture projects with reputable private companies for commercial large scale agriculture.
Ugwuanyi promised to maintain the existing peace and stability in the state and continue implementation of the Visit Every Community (VEC) report approach to identifying and addressing the needs of rural populace.
The governorship candidate also promised to continue with the four-point agenda of the present administration designed to transform the state through physical infrastructure, development, economic expansion and employment generation.
“If elected into office as governor, I intend to pursue my vision for the state by implementing a governance agenda that is focused.
“I will run a government that is inclusive, transparent and accountable,’’ he said.
Ugwuanyi appealed to the electorate to vote for the PDP and shun any form of electoral violence during the governorship and state assembly elections in the state.
Earlier, the President of the Enugu Sports Club, Mr Obum Arum, commended the candidate for being the only governorship candidate that interacted with the club.
Arum assured him of collective votes of members of the club and urged him to carry everybody along if elected as the governor of the state.
