Election Offences: Police Arrest Eight Suspects

command said last Wednesday that it had arrested eight suspects over alleged electoral offences during the March 28 presidential and National Assembly elections in the state.
The State Commissioner of Police (CP), Mr Samuel Adegbuyi, who made the disclosure at a news conference in Benin, said the security agents arrested the eight suspects at various spots across the state.
Adegbuyi said the command would hand over the suspects to the State Office of the Independent
National Electoral Commision (INEC), for prosecution, in line with the Electoral Act, after the concluson of investigations into the cases.
The CP also confirmed that one death was recorded in Benin City during the March 28 elections.
