One of Nigeria’s lead
ing comedians, Daniel Chibuzor Nwoka, popularly known as Dan D’Humourous has revealed that comedy had come to stay in Port Harcourt as most of them have made it a profession instead of doing it on part time basis.
The humour merchant who stated this in an interview with The Tide Entertainment after his hilarious performance at the last Easter Choral Festival organized by the Rivers State Broadcasting Corporation (RSBC), said with good economy and leadership, comedy and the entire entertainment industry in the state would definitely move to the next level.
He also disclosed that comedy as a profession is doing well in the state, because the older comedians carry along the up coming ones, teaching and advising them the best way to go about it, and so far, there are positive results as some have grown to become stars, while others are still growing and generally the future is bright for them.
It would be recalled that before now comedy was nothing to write home about but today it has risen from grass to grace it is now a lucrative business for the younger general and a profession to many, thanks to comedians likes Alibaba Basket mouth, Igodie, Humerous, Akas Babas, Aporoko etc.
