Cleric Charges Christians To Be Vigilant
Christians have been
told to be more vigilant, watchful and be alert as the days are evil and full of temptation.
The Presiding Elder (PE) of Faith Tabernacle Congregation, Nigeria, Pastor Marshall Wellington Bara made the call in his address at the Board of Elders meeting held at Aba, Abia State, recently.
Bara said although many children of God had proven that they were vigilant but needed to be more vigilant as Satan is waiting for unguarded hours adding that they should be watchful against sins and temptations.
According to him, Christians should always be watchful, sober and prayerful in order to overcome the Satan and high agents, and advised the people to “use every possible means offered by the Holy Spirit to be vigilant especially in these last days of ours.”
Speaking on the theme, “The days of more vigilance,” the Pastor enjoined all to serve God faithfully as no one knows the time of Christ’s coming, pointing out that “let not daily events distract our attention.”
He further told children of God not to sleep spiritually but always be ready day and night as children of light, even as he admonished them to hold fast the truth not to be deceived by the people of society.
“The vigilant, ready believer will be blessed at Christ’s coming. Should we not be watchful and patiently wait for that glorious day?” he asked.
In his remarks, the International Presiding Elder (IPE), Pastor Kenneth Yeager, said given events of the time, mankind, is living on the last day, adding that it is high time for people to rise to the challenge of combating Satan’s activities and be more vigilant than ever before.
Yeager also prayed for God’s wisdom for all in their dealings with people who are heavenly bound.
