Popular film maker cum
distributor Gabriel Okoye better known as Igwe Gabosky has claimed that about 99% of the boot flegers  in Alaba Market are from the Eastern part of the country.
In a recent interview with TNS, he said “when I went into Ubakason Plaza and Obosi Plaze the den of these pirates, I discovered that 99 per cent of the people trading there are Ibos. So I don’t know why you just want to take criminality and start joining it with politics a criminal is a criminal and should be pronounced a criminal, whether he is a Yoruba, Ibo or Haunsa”.
The film maker explained that “Kunle Afolayan has given him his movie to distribute and on investigations he found out that the movies were already pirated and he was able to compile names of those behind it of which they were all Ibos and no other tribe involved’.
It will be recalled that since the accusation of the Igbo speaking communities of piracy by actor and producer, Kunle Afolayan, various practitioners have seen this assertion as very annoying and uncalled for which has led to tongue lashing from some quarters. It was gathered ‘that’ October 1’ one of the pirated films is already in markets across the country.
