World Kickboxing To Partner RSG For Grassroots Dev

The Nigerian
    representative of the World Kickboxing Associatino (WKA) Sensei Victor Bassey, has re-affirmed his readiness to partner with the Rivers State kickboxing Association in hunting and grooming potential kick-boxers at the grassroots level.
Sensei Bassey who made the statement recently in an interview with Tidesports in Port Harcourt, said that the state would form a formidable team with the available potentials.
According to him, the WKA has worked out the needed modalities and is ready to execute its programme from next month in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State.
Sensei Bassey stated that they would pick a date for the programme immediately after the up-coming general elections in the country.
“We have put in place the necessary arrangements and just waiting for the 2015 general elections to come and go and then, we can commence with our programmes,” he said.
The exercise, is expected to go round the 23 local government in Rivers State, as to hunt potential talents at the grassroots for the state.
“The WKA is prepared to screen and groom the talents for future competitions at the national, international or even in the Niger Delta region, and to replace these groomed athletes with those kickboxers who have passed their prime.
