World Body Rewards Firm Over PAAR Success

The World Customs
Organisation (WCO) has honoured West Blue Nigeria Limited describing it as the pillar of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS)  Pre Areal Assessment Report (PAAR) and Nigeria Trade Hub (NTH).
WCO which comprises customs formations across the globe, acknowledge the firm as the brain behind the successful implementation of NTH and PAAR.
Presenting the award at the International Customs Day 2015, which took place recently in Abuja, the Comptroller General of the Nigeria Customs Service, Alhaji Dikko Inde Abdullahi acknowledged the support that the firm gave to PAAR and the Nigeria Trade Hub since their operation.
The custom boss maintained that the firm had made NCS to stand out graciously across the globe.
Alhaji Abdullahi also hailed the managing director and chief Executive Officer of West Blue Nigeria Limited Mr Valentine Mintah for his role in the implementation of NTH and PAAR.
West Blue Nigeria Limited is a member of the global/West Blue family with visible presence in Ethiopia, Ghana, India, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Rwanda, South Africa, South Sudan, Swaziland, Tanzania, United Arab Emirate (UAE), Uganda, United Kingdom, United States of America (USA), Zambia and Zimbabwe.
Abdullahi confirmed that PAAR which was built by West Blue consulting Limited has delivered on the promise of generating revenue to the government and saving the country billions of naira.
According to him  in 2014 with PAAR, NCS received 291,156 applications out of which a total  of 273,148 were issued.
It will be recalled that WCO had earlier honoured NCS by including the NTH into the organisation’s single window compendium which in turn acts as a best practice guide and blueprint for WCO member administrations globally.
By the award and the success of both the PAAR and NTH, NCS has confirmed the inevitability of an ICT driven customs administration in the country.
NTH was also recently named as the “best rated platform” in the social media awards Africa (SMAA) the only independent business awards programme judged by members of the press and industry analysts.
At the award ceremony which held in Lagos, 15 winners from the 48 finalists representing all the five regions of Africa, except central Africa emerged at the maiden edition of the awards.
