Stakeholders Urged To Contribute To Development Of Skating

    coach, Kingsley Kedron, has urged stakeholders to contribute to the development of the game by grooming budding talents at the grassroots.
Kedron told newsmen in Lagos that Nigeria could achieve global recognition in the game if it could train skaters to become world class.
“Skating is a very interesting sport and it helps in burning calories from the body fast.
 “It makes you look fit and very interesting and nice looking; when you are skating it’s all your body you are using.
 “And another good thing that comes into skating is that it is known internationally and here in Nigeria we train our youths on how to skate well and meet the target of competitions internationally.
“So we do what we call aggressive skating, speed skating and we do skate ball.
 “If you checkout, Italy is into skating, America is into skating, South Africa is into skating, Ghana is into skating and if you check round the globe skating has come to stay and here in Nigeria we have welcomed it too.
 “So, that is why we’ll sit down and make sure that we groom and build our youth in order for them to win medals for Nigeria.“
The coach appealed to corporate bodies and well-meaning individuals to collaborate with the Nigeria Roller Skating Federation to help popularise the sport at the grassroots.
He said partnership with corporate bodies and well-meaning Nigerians would go a long way in enabling the skating federation roller to take the game to a higher level.
