School Of Health Tech Expects More NBTC Accreditation

of Health Science and Technology, Port Harcourt is billed to have more of the courses accredited by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE).
Acting Provost of the school, Dr. Nnamdi Amadi disclosed this during the school’s 5th Matriculation Ceremony at the weekend.
Dr. Amadi, who ascended the post of Acting Provost less than a year ago, noted that shortly after his appointment, the school’s authority ensured that four new courses were accredited.
The accredited courses are Environmental Health Programme, Health Information Programme, Medical Imaging Programme and Community Health Programme.
While emphasizing on the importance of having all of the school’s programmes, accredited by the NBTE, he explained that placing the school in an enviable academic position is part of the legacy he aspires to bequeath to subsequent leadership of the school.
In his welcome address to the matriculating students he urged the matriculants to be law abiding in the school, noting that they were lucky to be among the 1,522 students that made the merit list, out of 2000 that sat for the school’s entrance examinations.
“Those of you who are matriculating today should have course to celebrate and to thank God because out of 2000 students that sat for the college entrance examinations, you were among the few that made the admission list on merit,” he said.
He further charged the students to feel free to seek for clarification and guidance in their academic pursuit, stating that relevant staff of the school are mandated to render necessary assistance to them.
“The current college administration is student friendly. Therefore, be at ease to approach any academic or non academic staff for clarification and available support services at their disposal.
“In addition to the above, there is a functional counseling unit established in the college for academic guidance and counseling,” he said.
