The Inspector-General of Police, Mr Suleiman Abba, has redeployed six DIGs from the Force Headquarters to take charge of Zonal Commands for the general elections.
This is contained in a statement issued by the Force Spokesman, Mr Emmanuel Ojukwu, yesterday in Abuja.
The I-G also redeployed five Zonal AIGs.
The affected DIGs are: Dan’Azumi Doma, who is the  Coordinator for the South-East Zone, Mamman Tsafe, South-South, Hashimu Argungun, South-West and Christopher Katso, North- West.
Others are: Adeola Adeniji, North-Central and Kalafite Adeyemi, Assistant Coordinator, South- West Zone.
In the category of the AIGs are: Hilary Okpara, Coordinator, North-East, Bala Nasarawa, Assistant Coordinator, North-Central and Adisa Bolanta, Assistant Coordinator, North-West.
Others are: Usman Gwary, Federal Operations (FEDOPS), Abuja, and Mark Idakwo, Zone 9, Umuahia.
Also, the I-G redeployed six commissioners of police.
They are: Hosea Karma, who now takes charge of Rivers Command, Adamu Mohammed, Anambra, Dan Bature,Enugu,Usman Abdullahi, Katsina, Jimoh Ozi-Obeh, Benue  and Hyacinth Dagala, Department of Operations (DOPs), FHQ Abuja.
The I-G said the redeployment was to further reposition the force for a successful conduct of the general elections
He charged them to exhibit the highest level of personal and professional conduct in the discharge of their duties.

Meanwhile, as Nigerians vote for candidates of their choice in the presidential and National Assembly elections tomorrow, the Rivers State, Police Command has warned trouble makers who may want to undermine the process of the elections to steer clear or be ready to face the full force of the law.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the state, DSP Ahmad Muhammad stated this in an interview with The Tide on the preparedness of the police and other security agencies in the Saturday’s presidential and National Assembly elections across the state.
According to him, the police are fully ready for the elections across the state, adding that measures have been put in place to ensure violence free and fair  elections in the state.
Muhammad used the opportunity to call on voters across the state to conduct themselves in an orderly manner, noting that the police have been deployed to all the local government areas of the state for peaceful elections.
The state police image maker, however refused to tell our correspondent the number of policemen deployed across the state for the exercise.
Our correspondent reports that in Etche, Omuma, Ikwerre and Ahoada Local Government Areas of the state, heavily armed policemen and other security operatives were seen at strategic places in readiness for the elections.
A prospective voter in Etche Local Government who pleaded anonymity called on the police to beef-up security in the area, adding that the security situation in the area was deteriorating everyday.
He warned that voters may not be willing to come out to cast their votes except the security situation improved.
Another women, who also does not want her name in print said people were ready to exercise their franchise but urged the  state commissioner of police and the commander, Amphibious Brigade, Nigerian Army, Port Harcourt to come to the aid of the people and restore security in the area.
In the meantime, the Rivers State Police Command yesterday embarked on a road show to display its readiness to ensure peaceful and violence-free presidential and National Assembly election in the state on Saturday.
The police high command in the state, during the show of force, had on display various types of armoured personnel carriers (APCs) patrol vans and trucks as well as short and long-range weapons.
The police, which began the procession from the state command headquarters, Moscow Road, went through Azikiwe Road to Port Harcourt Aba Expressway before returning to the police headquarters.
