Police Arrest Non-Indigenes In Eleme

lice Command has confirmed that police in the state arrested some non- indigenes in Eleme Local Government Area of the state.
The spokesperson of the command, ASP Ahmad Muhammad disclosed this while reacting on the alleged arrest of some non-indigenes in Eleme LGA by the police over the weekend.
The state police image maker averred that investigation has commenced into the arrest, adding that at the end of the entire investigation, those find not guilty would be released.
It would be recalled that some non-indigenes  from the Northern extraction were arrested by policemen for alleged committing crime in the area.
The Tide gathered that those arrested by the police were yam sellers who have lived in Eleme for so many years.
Reacting to such arrest, the care taker committee chairman, Eleme Local Government Area, Hon. Ngofa, disclosed that those who were arrested by the police are all northerners who are yam sellers.
Hon. Ngofa, who is also the Deputy National Secretary of the All Progressive Congress (APC) alleged that the only police arrested yam sellers was merely  that they would vote for APC in the forthcoming general elections in the state.
He urged the police to release the detainees as the council leadership was not aware of any of such alleged crime committed by those northerners.
