Police Arraign Taxi Driver For Theft

The police in Ogun
    State  yesterday arraigned a 23-year-old driver, Tosin Olayinka, before an Abeokuta Chief Magistrates’ court for allegedly stealing his passenger’s belonging and a tyre.
The police prosecutor, inspector Sunday Eigbejiale told the court that the accused committed the alleged offences on February 26 at 5pm and on March 4 about 1am at 66 Majekodunmi Street, Iberekodo in Abeokuta.
The police said the complainant, one Obasa Felicia boarded the accused driver’s taxi on her way to Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Ojere in Abeokuta, with N58,000 cach contained on her hard-bag, which the accused stole.
Eigbejiale added that the accused also stole one front tyre valued at N8,000 and belonging of one Dauda Fasasii.
“The accused is a habitual criminal who only disguises as a taxi driver; he is fond of carrying passengers going to different destinations after accessing the belongings of the passengers.
“He will then pretend faulty and tell the passengers to accessing and push the taxi while their belongings are still in the car.
