Man Jailed 2 Months For Causing Grievous Hurt

Magistrates’ Court, Abuja, on Thursday sentenced one Sunaju Kabir of Mabushi, Abuja to two months imprisonment for causing grievous hurt.
Magistrate Binta Dogonyaro convicted Kabir after he pleaded guilty of the offence leveled against him.
The magistrate expressed the hope that the punishment would serve as deterrent to others “who are having the same intentions’’.
Earlier, the prosecutor, Cpl. Umar Ango, told the court that one Shafiu Rabiu, of Mabushi village, Abuja, lodged a report against the convict at the Wuse Police Station on February 18.
Ango said that on the same date, the convict stabbed the complainant with a kitchen knife on his right hand after an argument.
The convict had pleaded for leniency, and promised to change his ways.
