Ihedioha Assures On Good Goverance

The Peoples Democratic
Party’s (PDP), governorship candidate in Imo, Chief Emeka Ihedioha, has promised to govern Imo with broad mind and use the State’s resources equitably, if elected.
Ihedioha made the promise while addressing members of the Imo State branch of Federal establishments in Owerri recently.
Ihedioha, who is also the Deputy Speaker, House of Representatives, said only a law abiding, broad minded person with intellectual capacity could govern the state.
Ihedioha added that he had garnered adequate experience, more than any other contestant, to emerge the next governor of Imo.
He said as a federal lawmaker, he had attracted a number of projects; including Oguta Jetty, worth over N500million, and some educational institutions in the state.
The institutions, he added are; the Federal University of Technology, Owerri, Federal Polytechnic, Nekede, Alvan Ikoku Federal College of Education and FMC, Owerri.
He added that he donated electricity transformers, constructed school laboratory, employed scores of Imo indigenes, empowered women and youths and contributed to the passage of a number of Bills.
The candidate said that the bills he participated in passing impacted positively on the lives of the people in the state.
He said that the way the state was being managed, especially in the provision of education, electricity and execution of contracts, showed that it required a paradigm shift to survive.
Ihedioha said 23 experts assisted him to collate data on the way and manner the state was being governed, adding that the findings showed “very worrisome negative trend in the administration of Imo.
“It is very regrettable that 27 companies in Ideato South Local Government are all comatose because of lack of electricity.
“I will consider myself part of a failed generation if as Imo governor; I fail to bequeath the upcoming sons and daughters of Imo free and qualitative education’’, he said.
Responding on behalf of the federal workers, Mr Vitus Ekeocha, Director, said Ihedioha was the first to recognise the relevance of federal workers by factoring them in his campaign visit.
Ekeocha, who is also the state Director of the National Orientation Agency, advised workers to ensure that they collected their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs).
He said doing so would enable them to participate fully during the general elections.
