Defection Of Ikuru, Good Omen FOR Andoni APC – Group

A pro-All Progressives Congress Party (APC) political organisation in Andoni Local Government Area, the Andoni Patriotic Front has said that the exit of the state Deputy Governor, Engr Tele Ikuru from the party was a good omen for the party in Andoni and the entire state.
Speaking to newsmen during a rally to celebrate the defection of Engr Ikuru from the party at Ngo, the Andoni Local Government headquarters, the president general of the group, Mr Effect Ogwuokwa A John also said that the defection will make the party stronger in the area.
Mr John who described the presence of the Deputy Governor as a big barrier to the contribution of many party faithful in the area, said that his departure will give the APC a new lease of life both at the local government and state levels.
He also said that the defection of the deputy governor will not affect the electoral fortunes of the party in Andoni, adding that members were determined to deliver the party in the area.
He also used the occasion to commend a former Commissioner of Commerce and Industry in the state, Hon Robert Elleh, the House of Representatives candidate of APC for the Andoni/Opobo Federal Consistituency, Hon Sampson Egop and the Rivers Assembly candidate for the party, Dr Romson Dressman for attending the rally.
Others who attended the rally include Chief Clifford Njah, Chief Emmanuel Ibodeng Njah, and Comrade Jeremiah Ebelo as well as Hon Orom Nte.
Also speaking, the secretary of the group, Mr Oboada Monday used the occasion to commend the governor for the appointment of Hon Esuku M Esuku as caretaker chairman of the council.
Mr Oboada said that the appointment of Esuku had brought greater political advantage to the APC in the area.
