Customs Promotes 2,065 Senior Officers

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) says it has promoted 2,065 senior officers that participated in the 2014 promotion programme.
This is contained in a statement by the service Public Relations Officer, Mr Wale Adeniyi, in Abuja.
The statement said the Comptroller-General of the service, Dikko Abdullahi, had given approval for the release of the results following the ratification by the Nigeria Customs Service Board.
It stated that the exercise featured competitive computer-based examination and oral interviews that were conducted in all customs formations in October and November 2014.
“ Breakdown of the promotion list indicates that 48 Deputy-Comptrollers were promoted to the rank of Comptroller; 81 Assistant-Comptrollers were promoted to Deputy-Comptrollers while 112 Chief Superintendents of Customs were promoted to Assistant Comptrollers.
“Others include 32 Superintendents of Customs promoted to Chief Superintendents of Customs; 121 Deputy Superintendents of Customs to the rank of Superintendents of Customs; 65 Assistant Superintendents of Customs one to Deputy Superintendents of Customs.
“And 15 Assistant Superintendents of Customs two to Assistant Superintendents of Customs one and a total number of 1,591 Officers benefited in the Inspectorate cadre.
“Out of these, 1,493 are general duties while 98 officers are support staff,’’ the statement said.
The statement said the Comptroller General congratulated the promoted officers and urged them to redouble their efforts to justify their promotions.
